With the arrival of summer also comes the opportunity for some fun outdoor activities that are not available during any other time of the year. But with those activities also comes the chance for injuries.
The Spring Safety Fair is set for Friday, June 1, from 6:30-9 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 9 p.m. This year the fair will be at Station 7, 274 N 1000 W, rather than seperating the fair as in the past. We will be offering educational information on how to keep your pets safe during fireworks season.
The fair will include:

- CERT
- Animal services
- Water safety
- Life safety trailer
- Arson dog demos
- Bike licensing and safety rodeo
- TRAX
- Utah Power
- Climbing wall
- Fireworks safety demo
- Kid’s mini combat challenge.

We will be onsite again at this year's Utah Pride Festival, a program of the Utah Pride Center supporting the local LGBTQ community. Sandy city is hosting a licensing and vaccination clinic and we're going to be onsite for county residents to license. Salt Lake County Animal Services will be onsite with a licensing booth at Best Friends'® Neighborhood Pitbull Day, being held this year in Rose Park. Come on down for an easy opportunity to license your pets and learn about America's most misunderstood breed.
This event includes leash and collar trade-ins, spay and neuter vouchers, free vaccinations with free microchips, dog toys & training demos, and 'Ask a Trainer' and 'Ask a Vet' booths.

No More Homeless Pets in Utah is sending a veterinarian to our shelter and offering free sterilizations for bully breed dogs! These sterilizations are by appointment only, so please contact our Pit Crew Coordinator today to reserve your spot. This service is open to all bully breed dogs owned by residents of Unincorporated Salt Lake County, Herriman, Holladay, Midvale, and Salt Lake City for free. Residents of other areas can also take advantage of this program and have their bully breed dogs sterilized for only $20! Don't hesitate and miss this great opportunity.
